# MuteX

> MuteX is AI noise-cancellation software for Windows PCs, made by Enser Communications Limited (India) for contact centres, BPOs, collections and tele-sales floors, and business teams; individuals can buy it for one PC too. It runs inside the Windows audio system at the microphone, on each PC, removes background noise such as keyboards, fans, hum and traffic in real time, turns background voices down in the speaker's pauses, and passes the clean audio to every app on the PC, including diallers, softphones, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and browser calls. Audio is processed entirely on the PC. Licensed per PC (per desk), not per person.

## Key facts

- **What it is:** a Windows audio component (an Audio Processing Object) plus a control panel. It attaches to the microphone already in use; there is no virtual microphone to select and nothing to configure per app.
- **Platforms:** Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. Not available for macOS or Linux.
- **Who it is for:** contact centres and BPOs (inbound, outbound, collections, tele-sales), support and sales teams on Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, IT teams rolling it out to many PCs, and individuals on one Windows PC.
- **What it removes:** non-speech noise such as keyboards, mouse clicks, fans, hum, traffic, construction noise, paper, chairs and doors. The speaker's own voice passes at full level and sounds natural. Background voices from nearby are turned down in the speaker's pauses by a near-field gate that learns the speaker's own speaking level.
- **Hear it:** the homepage has a before/after sample of a support call on a busy floor (synthetic voice and floor noise, cleaned by the real MuteX engine): 50.6 dB quieter between sentences. https://mutex.co.in/#listen
- **Measured performance:** in a noisy home-office test (a pressure-cooker whistle, traffic and horns, drilling, a doorbell, keyboards, fans, hum and background voices in English and Hindi), the MuteX engine with its background-voice gate made the noise 51 dB quieter, from -22.8 dBFS to -74.3 dBFS. About 30 ms of added latency, which is not noticeable on a call.
- **How it differs from Teams or Zoom noise suppression:** those clean audio inside their own app; MuteX cleans the microphone once in Windows, so every app on the PC gets the same clean voice, including softphones, dialers, browser calls and recording apps.
- **Verified apps:** Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, X-Lite; browser calls in Chrome and Edge.
- **Privacy and security:** no audio leaves the PC and there is no cloud processing; the audio component runs inside the Windows audio engine (audiodg.exe) and has no network code. The control panel talks to one host, mutex.co.in, over HTTPS: activation sends the licence key, a machine ID (SHA-256 hash of the motherboard UUID) and the PC's name; the daily licence check sends the key and machine ID; the daily update check sends nothing about the machine. - **Requirements:** Intel Core 3rd generation or newer (or AMD equivalent), 4 GB RAM, the Windows Balanced or High performance power plan, and a microphone running at 48 kHz. About 110 MB of disk.
- **Licensing:** one licence per PC (a desk), whoever uses it, so shift teams sharing a desk need one licence; a licence can be moved when a PC is replaced. - **Deployment:** one installer (`MuteX-Setup.exe /quiet /norestart` for silent installs); licences can be activated from the command line and are assigned, revoked and reassigned per PC from the client portal; PCs check for updates daily, verify the checksum and publisher, and install only when no call is active; IT can pin updates to a change window (UpdatePinned=1).
- **Maker:** Enser Communications Limited, an NSE Emerge-listed company in Navi Mumbai, India (CIN L64200MH2008PLC182752), which uses MuteX every day on its own call floors. Company certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2, CMMI Level 5.
- **Existing customers:** licences, renewals (paid manually or by Razorpay autopay) and GST invoices are managed in the client portal at https://mutex.co.in/client/login.php. The trial is bought on the website; renewals are on the 1-month, 6-month or 1-year plans.
